Hello,
Just seeing if I would have better luck sourcing an after market exhaust on here as I cannot find a used one anywhere else. Any advice would be appreciated as well!
Thanks -Luke

Curious as to why you'd want to purchase a relatively expensive after market exhaust for your XT225? The 'Z1 mod' that most of us do to the stock exhaust will give you virtually the same performance boost as an after market exhaust, but at no out of pocket cost. Combine that with the '3 turn mod' to the factory carburetor and you'll likely feel you're riding a different bike altogether.

It's been some years (maybe 10) but both Jeannie and I have after market exhaust systems installed. She has the Pro Circuit T4 and I have the FMF Power Core. Mine having a bit more bark than her system. Both of these were listed for the TTR-225 and will fit perfectly on the XT225. A small power increase can be noticed. I recalled fiddling around with installing spark arrestor screens. Must have these for off road riding!
I have no experience with the Z1 mods, other than to say it's a popular alteration at little to no cost. Perhaps someone here had an after market exhaust on their bike, didn't like it and will sell it to you. Good luck.

There was a Big Gun exhaust on ebay that went unsold last week.It was the race version and the owner was selling it because it was too loud.I considered it just for the head pipe that comes with the Big Gun exclusively but decided it wasn't worth $120.00. http://www.ebay.com/itm/272809796045?ul_noapp=true

I have already done those mods along with re-jetting and UNI filter on my bike. I'm just more appealed to the look and sound of the aftermarket exhausts, as mines in bad shape.

That's a pretty decent deal for the whole package.

I installed a new FMF Powercore4 on my bike this past weekend, and easily see why someone would prefer it over the Z1 (which I had done as well). Yeah, $240 is a good bit to pay for a nominal (if that) increase in performance, but the sound and aesthetics easily make up for some of that lost cash.
Good luck finding aftermarket exhaust here used- I searched since the day I bought my bike with no luck. Had I of set my ebay to catch XT225 exhausts, I'd of bought that Big Gun as well.

If you've got $240 burning a hole in your pocket, money you can justify sinking into your bike, and you're looking for an increase in " sound and aesthetics," then an FMF Powercore4 or a Big Gun exhaust may be just the add-on you're looking for. To each their own, but remember that what you're getting performance wise, according to FahrenheitFarmer, is "a nominal ( if that) increase in performance" over the stock exhaust, something the admittedly 'less sexy' Z1 mod provides at no out of pocket cost. Whatever you decide, boldly go where your wallet and your heart leads, and enjoy your bike as you want it to be!

That said...I have seen a dyno graph that FMF made showing around a 1.6 HP gain over stock. Obviously it's advertising, but well within the parameters of possibility.
A 10% gain of power over stock (properly jetted) is clearly noticeable on our bikes. I would say the same thing...but a lesser amount...for the Z1 mod; noticeable.
For those wondering, there's not a whole lot of difference in idle noise between a FMF and a Z1 mod. When under power, the FMF has a better tone though (in my opinion)

I probably wouldn't of bought the FMF if i didnt lose the baffle/arrestor to my factory exhaust somewhere on a back country road.
But yes, I just wanted to spend money. #addictedtoretail
