FWIW
I bought a Moto Classic battery # YTX14AHL sealed AGM back in March 2016 for my KLR650 Cost me $66.95
Spec's 14Ah 280 CCA
It's performed great for me since ten. No problems at all.
Cranks the KLR over good.
Seems like a quality battery to me. UMMV

My NX250's battery is getting on in years... (Bought in Aug. 2009)
Parts unlimited RTX7LBS for $55.99 bought at my local dealer.
I'll, most likely get a Moto for it when it quits, but for now, it's still starting the NX.

As for AGM batteries, Odyssey makes a very high quality battery. Their product line covers power sports through industrial applications. Not cheap, however. One gets what they pay for usually.

They don't have a battery for the XT225. Not sure about the XT250 or other motorcycles. They have a Battery Finder page which allows you to put in your vehicle/motorcycle type and it will return their battery model.

I purchased an Odyssey battery for my Ford van. Amazon prime had it listed for $299.00 The Odyssey online store had it for $267.00 Orders over $50 get free shipping. The battery was here (via UPS) in about 3-4 days, well packaged and quality all the way. Fully charged too.

I'm a bit tired of replacing the automart limited life flooded lead acid batteries. I think over the life of a vehicle, these "cheaper" batteries are actually more expensive. Changing them out isn't a job I enjoy either. And they can go dead without warning.

For terminal grease I use NCP-2 which has always worked well for me. It wicks its way all over the contact surfaces and provides excellent protection against corrosion.

The model you list above is not the one MotoBatt's parts finder widget suggests, which is MBTX7U for a 2000 XT225. I've got the 2007 XT225 for which a different model, MBTZ7S, is the suggested battery (it's also the drop-in replacement for the OEM Yuasa YTZ7S). MotoBatt lists the dimensions for the various models; the model you were asking about looks both longer and higher than the model suggested.

What I found interesting is that the 2000 XT225 battery is 8Ah while the 2007 XT225 battery is only 6.5Ah. Maybe the older models had higher compression?

I've had this MotoBatt battery for a couple years now and it's been really reliable. I have a tender pigtail on it but rarely need to top off the charge longer than 20min. I tend to leave it on a tender if it's really cold out and/or it's parked more than 2 weeks.
